large-scale invasion started

Soon, the Russian invasion will have been going on for a full year. The amount of destruction wrought by Vladimir Putin's army is immense, despite the fact that we regularly write about the Ukrainians' increasingly significant victories.

A lot of Ukrainian families experienced a life-altering event on February 24, 2022. Some of the men went to the front without thinking it through, while others left the country only to come back and join their comrades right away.

It soon became clear that serving one's country poses a genuine risk to one's health and well-being in addition to being a commendable attitude. A group of women who were widows of soldiers and made the decision to help one another through trying times are the subject of the book "Ukrainian Truth.".

They were called "My Razom" (We are Together) in the beginning when there were several of them. The loss of their husband brought them together even though they didn't know each other before.

The group is open to the wives of heroes who have died. How unsettling that this circle is expanding.

There are about 400 of them at the moment. Some of them decided to talk about their experiences.

The end is the same, despite the fact that each takes a different path. Ukraine is currently at war.

Denys moved to Kiev to pursue his education, and they did not see one another for a while before their paths crossed once more. According to Ukrainian Pravda, they shared a home in Kiev and claimed that their love for one another was overwhelming. They couldn't eat, sleep, or even breathe without one another.

- In the summer, we cherished spending time around the fire while camping and fishing. Unfortunately, this meant that we put things off because we were always so busy working.

It appeared as though we were delaying life for a later time. But I'm just now becoming aware of it.

After all this time, Denys and I had become deeply connected on an emotional and spiritual level. Tetiana reflects, "Without it, I don't feel whole; half of me is missing.".

In Ukraine, her husband passed away. The couple jointly opened a coffee shop, but it only operated for six months before saying, "He's back, but in a coffin.".

All of that changed with the beginning of a full-scale Russian invasion. In order to be with their parents, the couple made the decision to go back to Poltava.

Denys attempted to enlist in the territorial defense forces but was turned down. He chose to join the Ukrainian Armed Forces instead, where he eventually joined the 81st Brigade.

He was quickly sent to the front after that. Tetiana concurred with his judgment.

They only spent a short time together the last time they saw each other, just before Denys was transferred to the Zaporozhye region. "I had no doubt that he would return.

He returned, but I was only able to embrace him when he was dead and lying in the casket, recalls Tetiana. May 21, 2022, saw the passing of Denys Bondarev.

Her beloved was killed in the war. The life of Alina Karnaukhova Alina Karnaukhova started delivering hot meals to soldiers as a volunteer in 2014.

She met Serhiy, her beloved, in the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade "Kholodnyj Yar," and it was through him that she fell in love. Serhii Karnaukhov was a powerlifting champion from Ukraine who participated in international competitions.

He made the decision to enlist in the Ukrainian Armed Forces as soon as the "green men" descended upon the Crimea. Serhiy frequently visited the Donetsk region during their first year of dating, allowing the couple to frequently see one another.

His brigade was relocated in 2016, though. "We assumed there wouldn't be any issues.

I accompanied Serhiy wherever he went from 2016 to 2020. Every two weeks, I would travel there to spend the weekend with him.

It made little difference where we stayed; we were always in run-down houses on the front. The people I was with were the only things that mattered, says Alina.

He had a rifle in his hand and was on duty the day of the wedding. Serhiy sustained injuries in 2019.

Although the sniper was aiming for his head, the bullet struck his left shoulder instead. He returned to the ranks after receiving treatment for six months.

Additionally, he chose not to renew his contract after it expired in 2022. A few months before he left the army, he and Alina were married.

Serhiy worked with a machine gun at his post until four in the morning on the day of our wedding. The Luhansk region was where it was.

To get him, I came. In an interview with "Ukrainian Pravda," Alina recalled that she and her husband were married there.

Shortly before the large-scale invasion started, Serhiy traveled to Melitopol for business. Serhiy called President Zelensky's office on February 23, 2022, and informed him that he would not even have time to delegate his projects to someone else after president zelensky signed the law authorizing the mobilization of front-line reservists.

He left Berdyansk for the Dnieper on February 24 at 7:00 along with Alina and her son, who was 14 years old. Serhiy immediately departed from there and went to the 93rd Brigade's military unit.

Serhiy Karnaukhov, a resident of Kharkiv Oblast, passed away on May 27, 2022, from a head injury sustained close to the village of Dibrivne. Two hours after the incident, Alina received word from her husband's commander that he had passed away.

"I disagree when people say that life is the most precious thing, despite the fact that this tragedy occurred. This is untrue.

Freedom, honor, and dignity rank among the most valuable things. And for that, Alina admitted, our husbands are willing to die.

An equally tragic event happened to Oksana Borkun, and she respected her husband's decision to follow his desire to enter first. She didn't make an effort to obstruct her husband from entering the fray.

His choice was respected by her. Volodymyr assured her that he was 30 kilometers from the front line during their previous conversation so that she need not be concerned.

Volodymyr's father, who served in the military as a volunteer in 2022, alerted authorities when there had been no communication for three days. After all, Oksana was informed of the tragedy by her friends.

In the Vinnytsia region's Obodivka, where Volodymyr was born, he was laid to rest. His parents only had one son, him.

"My husband's family welcomed me into their family right away. They are genuinely kind and diligent individuals.

They are people I respect greatly, and I am grateful to have them raise my son, says Oksana. "Defeating the Russian army and liberating the territory"Read more: The Kremlin was taken aback by Lukashenko's comments regarding the agreement with Ukraine.
